About the platform

What is Athab Al-Tilawa?

A digital platform for Qur’an competitions in recitation, tajweed and memorisation, nasheed competitions, and competitions in memorising and narrating the Prophetic hadith, with daily services for every visitor.

Who sponsors the platform?

The platform operates under the sponsorship of Jordan Television and the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Which languages is the platform available in?

Arabic, English and French. You can change the language at any time on the website or in the app’s settings.

Account and registration

Do I need an account to browse the platform?

No. You can browse competitions, news and services without an account. You need one to apply to competitions, follow your applications and receive notifications.

How do I create an account?

Enter your phone number, then the code you receive by text message, then your name. No password is needed.

Why am I asked for details such as my date of birth and gender?

Because each track has its own age group and conditions. These details are asked for only when you apply to a competition that needs them, and only once.

What is identity verification, and why might I be asked for it?

Some tracks require a verified date of birth to keep age groups fair. You upload a clear image of an official document; it is reviewed by an authorised team, kept strictly confidential and never published.

Taking part

How do I apply?

Open the competition’s page, read the track’s conditions, then tap “Apply now”. The platform checks your eligibility, asks for any missing details, lets you upload your recording if the track requires one, and sends your application.

What are the requirements for a recorded recitation or performance?

Each track’s page sets the allowed length, file formats and maximum size. In general, a clear video recording in your natural voice is expected, with no sound effects or editing.

Can I take part from outside Jordan?

Each competition sets its own scope and conditions. Remote competitions usually allow participation from anywhere unless their conditions say otherwise.

Is there a fee to take part?

Each competition’s page sets out its full conditions, including any fees if there are any.

How do I follow my application?

On the “My applications” page of your account, which shows each stage from applying to acceptance, judging and the result. You also receive notifications at every update.

Judging and results

How are entries judged?

By specialist judges, against criteria published for each competition, in remote or in-person rounds.

Can I appeal a result?

Yes, within the period and in the manner set by the competition’s conditions, from your application’s page when an appeal is open.

How are results announced?

On the platform, with a notification to participants. Winners’ names and excerpts of their entries may also be published by the sponsors under the competition’s conditions.

Services and privacy

Do prayer times and the qibla need my location?
